My brother Hank died by suicide.
I participate in this walk because my brother is gone. I will never hear him say that he loves me in person again. I will never feel his epic hug again. I cannot save him. But I can raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention. I can keep his memory alive through my actions that others can see, because they cannot see how much he lives on in my mind and heart.

I can walk to raise funds and awareness for SOSL- to help all those who have not yet had theirs lives broken by suicide and those who still need these meetings to make sense of this world without our loved ones.

Hank's gamer tag was B1ur, our team name for the Walk in Remembrance is "Team B1ur" -for him. Because we walk for him, we still love him even if he isn't here to feel it. We want to do things for him even if he isn't here to accept it. We want our kids to know him and remember him because he was an awesome human and how he died doesn't change that fact.
